Writing for 30music.com:
Congratulations! You made it past the hard part. Now here's the easy part. To apply to become one of 30music.com's elusively exclusive staff writers, please send in a sample review (200-500 or so words) to kyle@30music.com. Once you're approved, we'll send you music to review. We are looking for people who can make a weekly commitment; that's one review per week, and for people who do not get all self-indulgent with their writing (i.e. we stray away from publishing reviews with the evasive "I" statement). OK, you still with us? Does it sound too good to be true? Believe us, it is not, however sometimes we cannot believe it ourselves. Pinch us. We're dreaming. And we look forward to hearing from you.
Music submission policy:
Not so long ago we were suggesting that anyone interested in having their music reviewed should contact us first to guarantee a review. This is still the only way we can guarantee a review, but as traffic has improved and the number of emails we receive has increased we have found it harder and harder to get back to everyone looking to have their work reviewed. So, to anyone who would like their music reviewed by 30music.com, please look through the site's contents for artists that are similar to what you are doing. If after this you are convinced that your style of music is something we typically cover, and if it satisfies the other criteria as well, then please feel free to send any promotional items to the mailing address below. Please keep in mind that we will not review anything of a style we are uncomfortable with. We typically do not review compilations, re-releases, anything by Audioslave, discs containing fewer than three tracks, or split releases with fewer than two tracks by each artist. Due to our commitment to review the latest music available we also cannot guarantee reviews for discs over six months old.
